Interactive Online Survey Invitation

May 6th, 2007

There is more good news from the paid survey front. Yesterday I received a regular email questionnaire on the topic of “Foods” that was supposed to be 10 minutes long. It turned out to be a screener for one of those interactive online surveys that usually pay more money than the regular kind.

After answering a few fairly general questions about the kinds of foods that we buy, I arrived at a web page with the following message:

A select group of panelists will be invited to participate in an interactive online survey conducted by our partner, Invoke solutions. Those chosen will be asked to interact online with both a moderator (discussion leader) and other participants. Panelists that complete the interactive survey will earn a $20 guaranteed payment for their time.

Those who are selected to participate will receive access instructions from the company. We will need your email address but it will only be used to send you an invitation for the session with a user ID and password and short follow-up survey.

In order to participate, you must have the following:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 (or greater) or AOL 6.0 (or greater)
  • A computer that is running a Windows operating system
  • A computer that supports a resolution of at least 1024 by 768 pixels and High Color (16 bit) or greater
  • Fortunately, I meet the system requirements, although I wish that they would develop compatibility with Firefox so that I did not have to keep switching back to Internet Explorer just to be able to participate in these kinds of sessions.

After reading the above message and clicking through to the next page, they gave a date of May 9 and two different options for times, both of which were in the evening. This is less of a notice than they usually give for these things; I have done these interactive sessions before and the start date is usually about 7-10 days away from when I receive the initial invitation. This is OK with me, though. It just means that I will get my money that much faster!
