Karlonia.com Accepted for MySurvey Affiliate Program

August 24th, 2007

Earlier today, after about five days of waiting, I was accepted into the affiliate program at MySurvey.com. MySurvey is one of the better paid survey companies out there and is completely free to join. For those of you who have been searching on the keyword “mysurvey scam”, I can assure you that they are legitimate and are definitely not a scam. In fact, I have been a member since 2004 and have already been paid several times from them. However, if you are actually searching for some scams, you can always check out my Spam and Scam section where you can find several opportunities to waste your time or money.

One of the things that I like about MySurvey is that unlike most other companies in this genre, they always pay you a small amount for every survey even if you do not fit into the targeted interest group that is allowed to continue for the remainder of the survey and earn greater rewards. Most other survey companies don’t quite work like this; usually they will send you a bunch of surveys and when you click on one, you have to run the gauntlet of screening questions and hope that you are able to qualify. If you fail one of the screening checks, you’ll get booted and sent to a “screen out” page. Most of the time there is no reward for this, other than perhaps some lame sweepstakes entries that seldom result in any real cash.

With MySurvey, every time you log into your account, all of the available surveys are displayed on the first page with their minimum point values clearly marked. As you take the surveys, occasionally you will qualify for a somewhat longer questionnaire with a greater reward value attached, at which point you will be given the choice of whether to accept or decline it. If you accept, you will always get the greater number of points as long as you complete the full survey, regardless of the answers given. Sometimes they will also send you free products for testing in addition to the point rewards. Finally, you can also opt in to take surveys by regular postal mail. After you complete these and send them back to MySurvey, they will credit your account with additional points under the “Special Awards” category. The points that you receive as rewards are readily convertible to cash at the rate of $10 for every 1000 points.

After you have registered, if you’re an active member and have a website, you can apply for the affiliate program and potentially earn an additional 150 points for every eligible member that you can manage to refer to MySurvey.com. If you are accepted, you should receive an email similar to the one that I did earlier today:

Hello KARL,

We have reviewed your website at HTTP://WWW.KARLONIA.COM/ and are pleased to let you know you are now officially an MySurvey.com website affiliate. Thank you very much for your interest in the program. You’ll earn 150 Reward Points for every eligible household referred from your site that joins the MySurvey.com interactive panel.

For banners, text ads, logos and links to use on your website,

–Log into http://www.mysurvey.com with your username and password

–Go to the Referral section and click on Website Affiliate Program (left menu).

–Banners, text ads and logos will appear on the website affiliate page along with the appropriate links.

–Please use these links to ensure you get credit for your referrals.

If you wish to recruit new members via email, instructions are also provided on this page. Due to recent and ongoing legislation governing email, you must following the instructions provided on the Website Affiliate Program page to include the MySurvey.com offer in any emails.

We provide new banners & other media periodically for our affiliates so be sure to check back. Please use only the creative materials (banners, graphics, logos, text links) that we provide.

There are three other important things to keep in mind as an affiliate:

1. You must be an active member of the MySurvey.com interactive panel to continue as an affiliate. That means that you need to take surveys occasionally - at least 5 surveys in any 6 month time period. Surveys are generally short (10 minutes or less).

2. If/when you earn close to 60,000 reward points, we’ll contact you to ask for your social security number. The IRS considers anything over $600 earned from one source as taxable income and requires that we send you (and them) a tax form for each tax year, with social security number referenced.

3. There is a delay between the time your referral joins and crediting of points to your account to allow us to determine new member eligibility. Please see the Referral Program rules in the Referral section of MySurvey.com for details about eligibility. (You must log in to access the Referral section of the website.)

Just a reminder: As an affiliate you have agreed to abide by all the MySurvey.com
Referral Program Rules and the Affiliate Program Terms of Service. Our rules periodically change; please check the Referral section of the MySurvey.com website routinely for any changes. If the Terms of Service change, we will notify you via email about the changes, where to find a copy of the new Terms of Service and indicating whether recertification is necessary. Your continued membership and affiliate status depends on your adherence to the most recent version of the rules and Terms of Service.

Like your membership, your participation in the website affiliate program is always voluntary. If you have any questions about the affiliate program, please contact our tech support staff via email (affiliates at mysurvey.com) or by calling our toll-free number 1-800-537-4097.

Many thanks for participating in our website affiliate program.

After receiving this notification, you will be able to log into your account and access the affiliate area, where you can see the various promotional tools that are available. For example, the larger size banner ad looks like this:

They also have standard size banners and some text links that you can use. MySurvey seems to be a little sensitive when it comes to email campaigns; although it is not prohibited, because of the spam regulations they want you to contact them first before promoting by email. Therefore, if you have a big list you may want to do this and get their OK before setting up any mailings just to make sure that there will not be any problems with it later.
