Spyware consists of malicious software that is installed on a personal computer without the owner’s consent. This software can take partial control over the computer system or otherwise work to detract from its performance. Spyware is not the only name by which this sort of offensive software is known, as it has also been labelled adware, foistware, malware, or crapware by particularly frustrated victims. Whilst these different varieties of software accomplish diverse goals, they are grouped together under the title of spyware. Because spyware is an annoying and unwanted addition to any computer, it resorts to trickery to convince the user to install it. No computer owner will knowingly install malicious software on their computer –- spyware succeeds in deceiving them either by attaching itself to a more desirable download or by pretending to be a useful program.

Blogging has quickly become one of the nation’s favorite pastimes, and is quickly becoming a world wide phenomenon. Many business owners have already figured out that adding a blog to their web site boosts the success level of the business, and keep regular blogs accessible to their customer base. A regularly kept blog benefits the business owner by driving more daily traffic to the web site, offering an informal venue for passing along important information, and developing a level of personal interaction with the customer. There is also the Bakugan starter pack, a somewhat scaled down version of the original containing fewer Bakugan and cards, which you can buy from the same source. A few days back, my mother-in-law bought this amazing Bakugan battle pack for my son who is 4 years old now. This was probably one of the best birthday gifts he has ever got. Aside from his love for the Bakugan show on Cartoon Network, now he doesn’t even want to get separated from these toys that are a replica of the characters and their adventures on the show. He never gets tired of these cute little toys and prefers to spend all his free time playing with them. Video games and television have all taken a backseat for him.

Zoltan Gyalog has come out with another nice tutorial article, this time focusing on a Photoshop technique called non-destructive editing, which is a way to modify images without making permanent, irreparable changes to them or “destroying” any of the pixels. Meanwhile, if you happen to be a Photoshop enthusiast, this same author has written another useful tutorial on colorizing black and white images in Photoshop.

Non-destructive editing is a workflow that focuses on leaving the source content of a project unmodified. The idea behind the concept is to create non-permanent edits. In other words: dynamic edits you could adjust later as need dictates. Ever since version number 3, Photoshop supports layers. The layer system is a key element of non-destructive edits. By default, the software handles all untouched images you open up as a Background reference. If you take a look at the Layers palette – hotkey: F7 – you will see that the project consists of the opened image and it is referred by Photoshop as the Background. A Background is not a layer though and layer-exclusive effects are not applicable on top of it.

Mulligatawny is an Indian soup. It was probably the first Indian dish to go global, much before samosa or chicken tikka masala! The name ‘Mulligatawny’ is a transliteration. It is derived from the Tamil Milagu thanneer, which literally means black pepper water. The soup, however, is closer in taste to what south Indians call Rasam (extract).
There are several variations to Mulligatawny, but it essentially consists of tamarind water seasoned with ground spices like turmeric, pepper, and cumin. The pepper and tamarind combination gives the soup a hot and soothing taste. Mulligatawny has some medicinal qualities to its credit too.

Sure, we all love to do our part to help out humanity, but isn’t it always best when being selfless also lets you be selfish? Like when volunteering to donate blood gets you out of the office for a few hours, or offering to be the parent who takes all the kids to the park lets you go to the ice cream shop (just because the kids like it, of course). Could it be that rolling up your car windows and basking in the cool, refreshing breeze of air conditioning is actually helping use less gas? Well, yes. And no.

This is one of those questions full of “maybes” and “it depends.” In general, the theory is that in city driving it’s more efficient to roll your windows down, but at highway speeds open windows create tremendous drag so you’ll actually use less fuel rolling them up and turning on the air conditioning. At least that’s the theory — but as with so many other things, the devil is in the details. Just take a look at the diversity of opinions:

A driver or device driver is a small software program that enables your PC to communicate with and control a particular hardware device connected to your computer such as a printer, mouse, keyboard, or DVD drive. A device driver is required for every type and model of hardware device attached to your computer.

Device drivers are often provided with the operating system, applications program, or hardware device. For example, Windows XP/Vista includes built in device drivers for various common hardware devices. When a hardware device is connected to your PC, the operating system recognizes the occurrence and configures the device driver software automatically. If your operating system doesn’t include the required driver, you will need to load it when you connect the device to your computer. The driver for the hardware device is normally found on the install disk that came with your device when it was originally purchased. You can also locate the driver on the website of the hardware device manufacturer.

In one of our previous articles, we covered the concept of secured vs. unsecured debt, which mentioned that secured debt arrangements involve some type of property that is used as collateral. However, even if your debt is of the unsecured variety, creditors may still try to sue you in order to collect their metaphorical pound of flesh. This next article deals with what legal rights you may have if you find yourself in such a difficult situation.

It turns out that some states have laws that allow you to exempt certain property or income from being seized by creditors to settle a debt. The main takeaway point here is to use some common sense and do not sign away any of your rights to exemptions just because creditors are trying to apply pressure on you. If you are unsure about what rights you have in this particular area of finance, you can always consult an attorney or do some legal research to find out exactly where you stand.

Adware is a type of spyware renowned for being more annoying than malicious. In its purest form it functions merely to provide targeted advertisements to the Internet surfer. Easily recognisable by both the pop-up advertisements and banners displayed on the Internet page, adware doesn’t seem the most dangerous software to download.

A common method of recouping production costs for software developers is to install adware into their program. They can then gain money through advertising without having to charge for the main purpose of their ‘free’ download. This type of adware is distracting but isn’t designed to do any lasting damage; at its worst it will merely annoy the computer user.
