Where Can I Find Bargain Plus Sized Clothing?

plus-size-clothes-cheap.jpgShopping for clothing on a budget can be stressful, and when you are limited in your choices because of the size you wear, things get even more difficult. However, there are ways to find stylish and affordable sweaters in your price range without resorting to rejects from the 1980s lining the shelves at Goodwill.

The Internet is a great resource for a plus-sized shopper. Many stores such as Old Navy carry larger sizes on their website that they do not sell in stores. If you have a general idea of what size you wear, searching online can yield results that are sometimes much cheaper than their real world counterparts. Some sites offer you the ability to search through clothing by size and price. It is possible to find clothing up to fifty or sixty percent off. Additionally, online auction sites can be helpful for you if you’re seeking plus sizes at a bargain. You can tailor your search based on color, price, and size. Additionally, you can ask the seller questions about quality and how much wear and tear there is on the garment.

Coupons are not just for groceries and household items. Many plus size clothing shops offer great deals for their customers either on an annual or monthly basis. Lane Bryant clothing, for example, seems expensive at first glance. Fifty and sixty dollar sweaters do not seem feasible. However, stores like Lane Bryant offer their customers the opportunity to sign up to receive coupons through both snail mail and e-mail. The discounts are impressive; you can combine a coupon that will take $25 off a purchase of $75, and buy clothes that are already on sale. By doing this, you may end up with three or four pieces for $50, which is a great bargain anywhere. You should always inquire at any store you like about possible discounts and mailing lists. It takes very little time, and it can yield serious benefits at the cash register.

Buying clothing at full price from a department store seems silly when surplus stores such as TJ Maxx or Filene’s Basement sell quality merchandise at vastly reduced prices. These stores operate by buying surplus stock directly from designers and manufacturers at a discounted rate. The clothing, therefore, can be sold at a deeply discounted rate to the consumer as well. These stores tend to have well-stocked plus size departments. In fact, their selection can sometimes be more impressive than what you could find at a department store. Additionally, shop these types of stores out of season; you can buy all your winter sweaters in the middle of June, while saving serious money because everyone else is worried about buying shorts and swimsuits.

Although the plus-sized shopper may have to search a little longer and harder to find great bargains, it is entirely possible. Quality, discount clothing is out there, whether you’re sitting at your computer or navigating the mall on a weekend. Keep your wits about you and don’t give up until you have acquired the perfect piece for your closet.
