Cruise Sale: The Perfect Time to Go for a Cruise

April 30th, 2010

caribbean-cruise-sale.jpgMany people with free time on their hands are deciding to travel these days. A host of new companies, websites, and offers have sprung up suddenly with the boost in the travel industry. Cruises are one of the options available, with quite a few cruise sale offers with discounts and bookings. No one should have to tell you what a luxury it is to be on a cruise, and what pleasure it can give you. The feel of the open sea, day and night, the sunrise and the sunset, the ports, the thrill of seeing new places — if you like water and like to travel, there is absolutely no way you should miss an opportunity to be on a cruise.

A day on a cruise can be exciting or relaxing according to your preferences. Many ships offer activities like rock climbing and surf simulation apart from the regular shopping and sunbathing. You can also choose to relax at a spa on the ship. A cruise is like any other holiday except that it takes place on a ship instead of on land.

Unlike in earlier times, cruises are now very affordable with a number of cruise sales, discounts, and deals on offer. Usually they are categorized on the basis of region, so know where you want to travel and find the offer. The Caribbean and the Mediterranean are the two most popular cruises. The Panama Canal, Alaska, Hawaii, Europe, Mexican Riviera, Transatlantic, Scandinavia, Africa and the Far East are also available.

A search on CruiseShopping.com revealed such a large number of cruise deals that one cannot possibly go through them all in one day. From cruise lines like Carnival, Celebrity, Costa, MSC, Norwegian, NCL, and Royal Caribbean to Holland America, Regent, and Windstar, the site has a number of sales, deals, discounts, and specials on offer. A region-based search will list the different offers from different companies with their prices. The Caribbean/Bahamas trip was the most economical one that I found, starting from $334 for 7 days.

Cruise.com also lists many destinations and cruise lines, with quite a few opportunities for good discounts. NationalDiscountCruise.com is a similar site with a number of cruise-related offers and destinations. This site is more specific and if you are only exploring, it can be a little more than exhausting. While booking, remember that the prices these companies quote are usually for a single person on a twin-sharing basis. In case you are traveling with family and kids, check out the Nickelodeon at Sea offer where Nickelodeon has teamed up with NCL to offer a cruise with Nickelodeon entertainment on board.
