Reese’s Whipps: Light, Fluffy Goodness

September 10th, 2010

reeses-whipps-candy-bar.jpgIf you love peanut butter and chocolate, then you’ve probably eaten Reese’s peanut butter cups for a while now. But if you would like a lighter, fluffier candy, Reese’s Whipps are perfect for your palate.

Essentially, Reese’s Whipps can be called “3 Musketeers with peanut butter.” Whipps still use the same, familiar chocolate for the outer coating, but the inside of this candy bar is whipped peanut butter. This filling has the same consistency of a 3 Musketeers bar — and a very rich peanut butter taste.

This is actually a unique, new thing for Reese’s. Whipps do not taste much like the original peanut butter cups or Reese’s Pieces. This new idea will surprise your taste buds and satisfy your cravings at the same time.

The only thing that might not work well for some peanut butter fans is the unique aftertaste. The peanut butter’s been whipped and mixed with other ingredients, so the aftertaste is not familiar at all. Rather, there’s a bit of a sweet, “light” taste left when you finish eating. If you’re used to eating 3 Musketeers bars, then you’ll know all about this aftertaste.

Another great thing about Whipps is that one average-sized candy bar contains only 230 calories. You can happily munch on Whipps without feeling guilty about your calorie intake. This is great news for anybody who wants some chocolaty peanut butter in their lives.

If you don’t want to eat a whole bar, you can buy Whipps in other sizes. As of February 2008, the company began offering bags of Miniatures and a King-sized candy bar.

Most Reese’s fans will like Whipps. These candy bars don’t taste like the company’s older offerings, but sometimes a new thing is a great thing.

You can visit Hersheys.com for more information about the company and this new, tasty candy bar.
