Bonnie “Stormspotter” Davis Wins Weekly Award

June 24th, 2007

This week’s “Top Builder” award at Medieval Hits went to Bonnie Davis for her consistent surfing and promotional activity over the past few days. She is also known as Stormspotter for her work as a volunteer for Oklahoma County Emergency Management, which involves tracking potentially dangerous storms and warning the public about any tornadoes that may spawn from them. Like Richard DeHawkinz, she is also on our team at StartXchange, where she has also been very active in surfing and promoting her sites. This is her feature piece for Medieval Hits:

Richard DeHawkinz Wins “Top Builder” at Medieval Hits

June 20th, 2007

At the Medieval Hits traffic exchange, web designer Richard DeHawkinz has won this week’s “top builder” award by donating some new banners to the program for use as additional promotional materials. As part of the prize, he was allowed to post an introductory article about himself and have it displayed on the members login page of Medieval Hits. I have reposted his piece here between the lines; although I have edited it somewhat, the content is still substantially his. DeHawkinz seems to have an affinity for run-on sentences and the original text was poorly formatted (lots of unnatural line breaks and superfluous spacing between words), so I have taken the liberty of tidying it up a bit:

Royal Surf Announces Father’s Day Bonuses, Tweaks Credit Awards

June 17th, 2007

The Royal Surf traffic exchange is temporarily increasing the regular credit bonuses beginning today and is also increasing the frequency of randomly occurring letter bonuses that appear on the surfbar. It is unclear exactly how long these increases will last, but I can confirm that they are still in effect right now, which is approximately 10 PM Central time on the date of this post. Here is the latest email from the current admin detailing the latest developments:

Crazy-Traffic Experiences Credit Display Glitches

June 7th, 2007

Displays of members’ accumulated credits and page views at the manual traffic exchange Crazy-Traffic have been behaving erratically over the past few days, leading to speculation that this particular program may have been appropriately named.

Karlonia Finishes in First Place Groups at Two Traffic Exchanges

May 27th, 2007

Last week’s long days of finger-numbing surfing efforts have finally paid off. I have managed to place in the top groups at two different traffic exchanges, Royal Surf and Link Crews. This means lots of extra credits to use for future advertising campaigns.

Royal Surf Offers Cheaper Credits, Contests

May 24th, 2007

The administrator of Royal Surf is extending the opportunity to purchase website credits at lower prices for a few more days and is also offering higher random bonuses to regular surfers.

Similar to Medieval Surf, Royal Surf is a traffic exchange that awards website credits to members based on the number of sites visited, referrals, bonus clicks, and overall activity. It is one of the faster exchanges out there; it has a 10 second timer with regular bonuses of 4-10 credits for every 20 sites viewed (you have to click on the link that appears on the surfbar in order to claim the credits).

What I like about them is that they have a nice ranking system that awards members for regular activity. All members are ranked into “kingdoms” of 20 people each according to the number of points that each member has earned during the current week. Points are earned mostly by surfing, but a few extra points may be obtained by referral activity or through purchases of upgrades and credits from the site. At the end of the week, the top five kingdoms (which equates to the top 100 members) are awarded bonus credits based on the total activity of all members during the previous week.

In recent weeks, the exchange has experienced a backlog of extra credits, so the admin is selling them off a below normal prices and is also awarding somewhat larger surfbar bonuses for currently active members. Here is the latest announcement:

Medieval Hits Traffic Exchange Changes Ownership

May 22nd, 2007

There has been a changing of the guard at the castle of Medieval Hits, a relatively new traffic exchange that I joined very soon after it opened about a month ago.

Apparently the previous “king” has stepped down and sold off the remnants of his fledgling kingdom to Canadian Internet marketer Larry Phillips. Concerning the plans of our new monarch, the latest email is pretty much self-explanatory:

Admin of Royal Surf Apologizes, Fixes Error

May 17th, 2007

The administrator of RoyalSurf.com sent out a correction notice regarding yesterday’s email update. It definitely ranks as one of the most sincere apology letters that I have ever seen from a traffic exchange admin before.

Apparently there was some mistake in the last email that made it seem like users could purchase “weekly priority rotation slots” for 30 days. In reality, as the name implies, they were only supposed to last for 7 days. This one had me feeling a little embarrassed as well; I had received yesterday’s email and read through it, yet somehow I missed the obvious logical fallacy. Here is the text of today’s email under the title, “Critical Correction Enclosed”:
